About the Project
Sacred Heart Schools replaced the existing lower and middle school campuses and opened the door to four new buildings and a courtyard in August 2012. The campus nearly doubled in size to 89,000 square feet. It includes more than 25 classrooms and science lab. In addition, a 23,000 square foot Fine Arts Center was built to house soundproof rooms for band, chorus, music, and drama. The theater has seating for 650 people. The new 6,500 square foot library and other buildings were built according to LEED-Silver environmental standards.
The new buildings were constructed on drilled pier and spread footing foundations with structural slab on grade. The building shells primarily involved structural steel moment/braced frames with two buildings that included structural wood frame construction.
