The 201 Marshall project is a ground up, five level, mixed-use, residential building over three-levels of Type I garage structure. One level of the garage structure is subterranean, and its upper two levels are wrapped at the street level with live/work units, retail leasing office, fitness center, lounge area, and lobby spaces with direct access from the street. Approximately 5,000 square feet of resident amenity space is provided including podium courtyard, rooftop patio, club room, fitness center, and lounge.
MatriScope provided special inspection and material testing services related to: shoring system placement observation, mat foundations, cast-in-place concrete, shotcrete, reinforced steel and anchor placement inspections, welding and CMU related testing for the project.

DreamWorks headquarters
REDWOOD CITY, CA
DreamWorks, voted “Top 100 Companies to Work for” by Fortune magazine, relocated their company headquarters for more than 500 employees, from their existing office at 1800 Seaport Blvd. to a vacant office complex at 1400 Seaport Blvd. Work consisted of tenant improvements to a 167,000 square foot, 5-story facility and included demolition of existing partial rated and non-rated walls, doors, millwork, electrical, lighting, suspended ceiling and finishes on all floors from the previous TI build-out. The large custom screening theatre will have 101 seats.
MatriScope provided material testing and special inspection services related to earthwork, cast-in-place concrete including footings, elevated decks, and slab in-fills, anchor testing, structural steel fabrication and erection, and spray-applied fireproofing.

Stanley MOSK Library
SACRAMENTO, CA
The renovation of this (188,000 sf) 5-Story granite Library and Courts Building also included Seismic upgrades. This project’s primary goals are to gain back the historic character of the landmark State Library and Courts Building and to upgrade the buildings infrastructure systems to support future needs. Renovations will include, upgrading security, accessibility, fire and life safety systems, repair roof and shell damage, abatement of hazardous materials and restoring historic features such as ceilings, lights, elevators, and public art.

Central Utility Plant
TRUCKEE, CALIFORNIA
The Central Plant Renovation project is a Design-Build effort by Nacht & Lewis + Skanska to upgrade the current 35,000 square foot plant (built in 1967), which provides chilled water (for cooling) and steam (for heating) to more than five million square feet. The new design called for an 80,000 square foot central plant and six million gallon thermal-energy storage tank. Skanska obtained LEED Platinum rating for this project.
MatriScope provided all special inspections and material testing services related to portland cement pervious concrete pavement, cast-in-place concrete, reinforced masonry, structural steel and buckling-restrained braces.

Broadstone Marketplace
FOLSOM, CA
The Broadstone Marketplace is a master planned, 40-acre retail development located in Folsom, California. Broadstone has become a main shopping destination for Eastern Sacramento and El Dorado Counties. Included in the development is a power center which features 388,000 square feet, inclusive of ten buildings that range in size from 10,000 to 35,000 square feet. Major tenants include PetSmart, Linens ‘n Things, Borders Books and Music, Old Navy, Ross, Marshalls, Cost Plus and other complimentary businesses.
MatriScope provided construction inspection and materials testing services related to concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, shop and field welding, nailing and epoxy anchor bolts.

Northstar Resort
TRUCKEE, CALIFORNIA
Inspired by the grand lodge architecture of the American West, the new Village at Northstar features native stones and timber, cobblestone streets and outdoor fire pits, an eclectic variety of shops and an outdoor skating rink. An aggressive construction timeline initiated Phases 1 and 2 which were completed within the first 24 months of a planned ten year build-out. Design consisted of driven pile foundation system supporting four and five-story structural steel frame incorporating braced and moment frame connections, composite slab-on-deck with a multi-story concrete parking structure. MatriScope was contracted to provide geotechnical engineering, pile driving, earthwork observation and testing, building department code compliance inspections, Caltrans civil and electrical inspections, special inspections and materials testing of concrete, masonry, epoxy dowels, structural steel, and fireproofing for this prestigious project.

UC DAVIS Graduate School
UC Davis Campus, California
The Graduate School of Management Offices and Conference Center is a Design/ Build effort by Sasaki Associates + Sundtwhich is comprised of a two 3-story buildings that will be a contemporary facility to host academic and professional meetings. The 82,000 sf building incorporates a structural steel frame with metal composite deck and concrete floors. This project is seeking Platinum LEED certification and is the most innovative project the UC Davis Campus has done thus far.
UC Davis relied on MatriScope to perform earthwork observation during construction and all other special inspections and material testing services related to concrete, masonry, steel, buckling restrained braces, and steel decking.

Renaissance Club Sport
WALNUT CREEK, CA
Construction of the $51 million Renaissance Club Sport Hotel project consisted of a cast in place, six-story, 117,000 square foot, structural steel hotel, a two-story 70,000 square foot health club, with a seven-story post-tensioned parking structure. Adjoining the hotel structure is a two-story structural steel framed athletic club. The hotel features 175 new guestrooms, an 80,000 square foot health club, and 4,000 square foot of meeting space. Construction was complete in 2002.
MatriScope provided all special inspection services including structural concrete, masonry, steel, fireproofing, and post-tension concrete.
